I have been going to Landmark for some time now and have always enjoyed the place usually on weekend nights but recently have begun to enjoy the week day dining. The renovation and change of direction really helps to compliment the food. Gone are the red velvet curtains, generic dining chairs, old carpet and boring bar. Hello to the large comfortable chairs, high back booths, hard wood floors, leather paneling and stone bar top. Not to forget the patio with large lounge style seating perfect eating and drinking day and night. I was talking to one of the managers, Brian and he explained to me how they are really trying to focus on the dining aspect of the restaurant and not just the late night weekend dancing. He mentioned to me that they had brought back their original chef (Saber) who came out to check on us while we ate. Speaking of which I haven’t mentioned the food. The bone in rib eye is incredible I do recommend. Even though I have never ordered it but have tried a friend’s the Chilean Seabass just melts. Without a doubt the best fish I have ever had in a restaurant. If you’re looking for a great place to go out for dinner with friends or on a date do not hesitate. Pricing I would describe as mid range for the type of food but if you go in on a Monday for half off wine by the glass or during week day happy hour for half of appetizers it is beyond reasonable. If you still feel like you need to go there on weekends only which is still great all of the OC's prettiest. Go early or make a reservation I have been there when they have had a 2 hour wait.

    • Best Steak in Orange County

      Review rating : 5out of 5   ElCidSK47 - 07/08/2008

Now I'm a little biased because I live right down the street, but soup to nuts, this place gets it. If I were to open a restaurant, this is EXACTLY how I'd do it. The food is amazing... the steak is like none other, the sea bass is off the charts, and the portions are more than generous without costing an arm and a leg. They just finished a remodel that creates an ambiance that really compliments the food. The weekends are great people watching, as it fills quickly with OC's pretty people, but my favorites are the weekdays when the piano player from the old Mistrals restaurant sings to the folks in the lounge. PS... their Happy Hour is a steal. Half-off all apps (and there's a ton to choose from) which are already reasonably priced; knock em back with a beer or drink on the newly finished patio. Can't be beat.

    • Great Steak!!!

I believe I’ve found my home away from home. I recently moved to Newport Beach and stumbled on Landmark Steakhouse in nearby Corona Del Mar. Being a meat person, I do enjoy my steaks and there’s nothing makes a steak more enjoyable, aside from being a quality cut and properly prepared, is the ambiance where you eat it. Landmark has dark wood walls like a traditional steak house and comfortable booths. I ordered a bone-in rib-eye, medium. It was served exactly the way I like it down to grilled asparagus. Scrumptious. I’ve since had their beef stroganoff, this time at the bar. Almost as good as Mom’s. The bartender said the seafood dishes are incredible as well. This may be true, but I’ve got my two favorites. If you enjoy a good steak or stroganoff ,which seems harder and harder to find these days, you might want to give this place a try.

    • Great Experience!

My first time experience at Landmark was awesome! I began with the Iceberg Wedge, which had just enough bacon & blue cheese dressing. For my entrée, I ordered the Chilean Seabass, many of my friends have been raving about this dish and they were right, it melted right in my mouth and was so delicious ! The decor was modern which I absolutely loved. Lastly, I have to mention the piano lounge, it had such a cool vibe. I will definitely come back.

The food & service was good, then went to the bar for drinks and the older bartender was an ass. They need better bartenders.

Even though the food is the best in OC. The night life is classy and fun. I would say that it is the best crowd of people I have EVER seen..
