Although it should be noted that Lucille's only displays authentic southern American folk art in its restaurants, it suffers from that faux-bayou atmosphere that the House of Blues employs. Still, this small chain more than makes up for its artificial ambiance with its magnificent barbeque selection. There's constant activity in the kitchen as cuts like ribs, roasts, tri-tip, chops and turkey are smoked round the clock in hickory-fueled ovens anywhere from three to twelve hours at a time (which accounts for the meat's trademark pink color). Weekday dining ensures you a table within minutes of entering the door, but weekend dining is a little more difficult, as Lucille's doesn't take reservations -- an hour-long wait for a table isn't unusual. But while you're waiting for your seat, take solace in the fact that the restaurant has amazing nightlife including live blues music and a top-shelf bar. The wait is sure to work up your appetite for the house specialty: the baby back ribs slathered in the kitchen's top secret hickory sauce.

Very good bbq

We went there last night and i ordered the texas beef brisket and it was great! The only thing I didn't like was the service, she could have beena little more attentive. She didn't even ask how we were doing, she just refilled my drink once. then later gave the check.
Nice and spicy
Great spicy sauce, not sweet, and tender ribs. I eat there last night and could eat there again tonight!,
Very good BBQ
This place is one of the best BBQ restaurants in OC. Kinda pricey & have to wait a while, but it's worth the time & price.
only good bbq I know of in OC

I am from the south (GA) and know and miss good bbq. Lucille's has excellent pulled pork, many great sides and hot links are great too. Service is very good and massive crowds at all time tell the story of really good food and plenty of it. I almost always have trouble walking back to the car from eating too much. It's so funny to see the big giant Mexican guys who eat there with the whole family. I love mexican food and it's nice to see them enjoy the food I was raised on too. Not a big fan of the tri-tip. Not sure why they don't just use brisket, which is far superior in flavor. Tri tip is stupid to me but people around here love it. Go figure. Oh yeah, the wife loves the tootsie roll pops they give out with the check-as if I had the extra room to eat one...
