Peking Wok's owners, Jane and Peter Sam, aren't novices in the restaurant industry. Before opening their Chinese restaurant (first in Vista before the move to Bonsall), they ran another successful eatery in Laguna Beach for a decade. Transferring their expertise and recipes to this establishment provides locals a chance at some fine Cantonese and Szechwan cooking, the authenticity and quality of which outdoes most other options in the county.
The menu is highlighted by its array of combination platters. Everything is served family-style, so one plate containing two or three items with smaller portions is a great way to sample more of the food at a lower price. The Lovers Shrimp plate (pictured) brings some spice into your relationship with a Szechwan shrimp in a red sauce full of heat and a salt and pepper shrimp cooked crispy and topped with sliced jalapenos. Lemon chicken is a soothing creation that is light yet filling. There are numerous vegetable dishes and tofu options for those who pass on meat. For one of the most authentic, healthy, tasty and simple dishes, ask for the steamed fish. They cover it with sliced ginger and serve you one of the most moist and flavorful and unadulterated pieces of seafood you will ever have.

the won-ton soup is out of this world!! Real generous portions of chicken breast, shrimp, mushrooms, and delicate wontons that are seasoned to perfection fill the bowl....I get a portion that will feed 3 to take home......Very Satisfying!!!!

Sdbustogo - 08/27/2008Service ,food and staff make this restaurant one not to miss.Very clean inside along with a full bar and piano music.I loved Chef Peters'Chicken and drinks of ice tea are flowing frequently. Thanks fo a great meal.Definitely will be back for more!Lunch runs about $9 a plate and you probably will taking some home.

The best ever!
casperzy - 07/08/2007I've been going to Peking Wok since I was knee high to a grasshopper! It used to be in Vista. Love it family style. Best wonton soup in the world. All time favorite is the sizziling platter. As a kid it was very exciting, and sooo good. No other place compares. Surprising there are so many really good Thai places in North County but very few really good Chinese. Forget Chins and chain places. Peking Wok is the best you'll find anywhere. Promise if you like Chinese Peking Wok won't dissapoint!
