The Scene
Few people have the culinary distinction of mastering food on two continents like the Mister behind Mr. Chow. A Warhol caricature in his own right, owner Michael Chow perfects simple healthful Chinese cuisine for star patrons in London, New York and Beverly Hills. The two-story Camden Drive restaurant includes a main floor dining room with narrow two-seaters and larger circular tables. Known more for lunch than for dinner, Mr. Chow is a preferred destination for Hollywood's agent, publicist and lawyer set. Once the initial atmosphere has been digested, white glove treatment begins with a selection of appetizers. With most dishes made pan-fried, steamed or poached, eating pot stickers and chicken dumplings is manageable even when watching the calories. The poached chicken plates are masterful, as are simple side orders like spinach. More traditional fried dishes and noodles are similarly good, if a bit meager in size. Known for their A-list service, the waiters are always helpful in suggesting signature dishes and should really be consulted if you're a first-time guest.
Spotted Here
A perennial favorite of both the old guards and young turks of Tinseltown; the perfect place to meet your agent, or your best friend who just happens to be a movie star, for lunch. Gwyneth Paltrow, Brad Pitt and Meg Ryan have all been spied dining here.
Can I Get In?
Having dinner at Mr. Chow is not an unreachable dining dream for folks not blessed with a marquee-gracing name. Make reservations in advance and hope that your favorite star -- or any star -- chooses to eat there on the same night. It could happen.

ARE YOU KIDDING?
went there for lunch shortly after new years 2006. although we got a nice table, the waiters were unable to bring all the condiments for any of the dishes, without asking them numerous times. the food was oily and really unappetizing. needed to remind them to refill glasses, bring chopsticks and bring dishes at different times. two appetizers showed up, and then the other three came with the four main courses. it was ridiculous. I remember Mr. Chow when you could go to dine, to see and be seen, and have an enjoyable meal. No longer, wont go back there....maybe forever. Overpriced and Overcooked.
Add CommentThe Stars Have No Taste
The stars that go here should get some taste and go into the Valley for some really wonderful chinese. I would love to tell you the name but then this Gem would be overbooked and I would'nt get in. As for Mr. Chows well it was just not worth it.
A PLACE TO BE

It was much more than just dining out.
Great food, great service and lots of fun.
I can't wait to go backOverrated
The food has a wierd taste,it comes in small portions, and its overpriced. Not that good, I rather eat Panda Express.
Cooking Cats

I saw one of the chefs grab a cat from the alley and throw it into the deep frier while the thing was still alive. These people are crazy.
Expected More...got more than I bargained for!
While I love sitting next to Larry King and hob-nobbing, the food left me very disappointed. A late night trip to Cedars-Sinai was not on my to-do list, but thanks to Mr. Chow it was a "must."
who are you kidding

lets get real here . this is chinese at its orst . living on its old reputation get hip and get to one of the good chinese places in town .
