anyone familiar with Alfred Hitchcock? Disturbia is a rip off of the old film called the Rear Window (1954)... save ur money at the theater and rent the rear window or pick it up at the library cuz its the same thing

  • JUST AVERAGE

    Review rating : 3out of 5   burrerd - 02/28/2007

I was there a few months ago and ate at the upstairs bar with a friend. The steak was just average but the 2 bar tenders were just excellent. I have found that most of the "vaunted" steakhouses to be average. Some of the best steaks I have had have been at just "average" restaurants and "mom & pop" eateries at unlikely locations. So folks, proceed with caution.

  • Good food but LOUD

    Review rating : 3out of 5   sassy282 - 02/26/2007

I went here a couple years ago for dinner and ate downstairs and it was simply amazing. So, it being my birthday this past weekend I thought it would be a great place to celebrate. WRONG. They somehow lost my reservation I made 2 weeks prior, and upon arriving, sat us upstairs where I couldn't hear myself think. The food was great, but the piano and singing were blaring so loudly, 1/2 way through the meal we had to change tables. It's sad to say, but I won't be going back here again, even though the steak was great. I'll go to the Lodge instead.

  • Mastros in Thousand Oaks

    Review rating : 5out of 5   heynancyg - 02/20/2007

We went to the Mastros in Thousand Oaks and everything was supurb. There were 5 of us and it was a wonderful experience. The display of the food was beautiful and everyone ordered a different kind of steak and they were all good. It is the best Steak house I have ever been to and my husband agrees as he is a steak lover he said that is the best steak he has ever had and if he says that it must have been good.

  • SAVE TIME AND MONEY GO TO COST

    Review rating : 1out of 5   chuck1oi - 02/20/2007

SAVE YOURSELF SOME TIME AND MONEY AND GO TO COSTCO FOR A BETTER RIBEYE STEAK. DON'T KNOW WHERE THE MYSTERY MEAT COMES FROM BUT NOT SURE ITS FROM BEEF.

  • THE BEST!

    Review rating : 5out of 5   sgrunyon7 - 02/20/2007

All this talk and not one mention of Mastro's Bone-in Filet. It is the best steak in town. Ruth Chris's Steak House would be my number 2 because it is consistant. Then I would go with Boa super cool and a good time with great food plus best desserts.

  • Outrageously Overpriced

    Review rating : 2out of 5   gsschipper - 02/19/2007

If stars are to be handed out, this restaurant would only rate the highest for price. Otherwise, put the credit card away, and cancel that reservation. The filet mignon was fatty, and tastless. The mashed potatoes tasted like ore ida instant. The famous macaroni and cheese was mediocre at best. Very limited wine selection, with hardly anything worth trying. The service was sporadic, with our table getting the most attention from the bus boys. Down stairs is quiet, but you practically sit with the people at the next table. Upstairs, be prepared for lots of noise, and a piano bar that doesn't come close be being any good. Save your money, and head out to Ruth's Chris for a much more enjoyable evening.

  • BEST OF THE BEST IN LOS ANGELE

    Review rating : 5out of 5   glfby469 - 02/19/2007

We are overcome with steak houses, but this one consisently rates #1 with me. The steak is consistant, hot, and the sides are generous and tasty. The spicy wasabi caesar, is a great palate teaser, and no one gives a more generous martini in town.

  • SOOO NOT Worth it

    Review rating : 2out of 5   clane38 - 01/28/2007

I went to the new Mastro's in Thousand Oaks and the experience was costly and very frustrating. We got a baked pototoe that could pass as shoe leather and the service was awful. The food is o.k. but Ruth's Chris is WAY better in food taste and quality. The noise level was unbelievalbe....like being in a bar all night. They have a horribly loud lounge singer that should have stayed in the low brow lounge in Vegas. Did I mention we had to wait 1 hour for our reservation.
