Eating at this Anaheim staple is like having breakfast at Mom's house. The dining room is noisy, the table's a bit too small, and there are always people rushing through the narrow walkways behind you. Consider it less a hindrance than a big part of the Original Pancake House's charm. Besides, you really can't complain. Where else are you going to find puffy Dutch pancakes dusted with powdered sugar and lemon? And forget about finding a better waffle. The Pancake House piles theirs underneath six inches of whipped cream and just about any fruit available.

As for sides, you can't go wrong with the lean bacon or potato pancakes. The service is just like Mom's too. Coffee cups and juice glasses are constantly topped off and the waitresses are so friendly, they're practically ambassadors of Anaheim. Expect a long line for the Pancake House experience. It takes a solid 20 minutes to get a table on weekends. -- Michael Alarcon

  • FAVORITE BREAKFAST!!

This is the best breakfast you will ever eat (and for reasonable prices). I have never had panckes as good as these-anywhere! The 49ers are my favorite, but if you have a real sweet tooth go for the apple. The omelets are good too. It's really noisy and crowded, but so what! The food's worth the wait and lack of atmosphere.

there is a place down the street called Gilmores that's better. Try Gilmores it's got a down south feel.

The food is excellent and the staff friendly. Yes, you must wait on weekends but it is worth every minute. The German pancake is wonderful and the Apple is to die for. This restaurant is my very favorite for breakfast. Adam is the greatest at cooking bacon.

We have been eating at the Original Pancake House for more than 15 years. The staff is friendly and efficient. The coffee always perfect. The Genman at this location is better than other Original Pancake House restaurants. You will have to wait on the weekend but worth it.

The food is good. The have everything breakfast except hash brown which I love. The place takes no credit cards, all cash and still charge you like they have to pay the credit card surcharges. Overall a good place, but don't go if you hungry cause you will have to wait.

The meal is well worth the wait. The best breakfast in Orange County

  • Good food/Poor Service

    Review rating : 3out of 5   capeach - 03/10/2004

I can't complain about the food...the German really is to die for..and the Apple is fabulous...coffee is made just right...its a shame that the customer service is so poor. I actually like within walking distance of this place and am a quite frequent visitor. On a regular basis, I have come into contact with a consistently rude hostess and so-so treatment from the wait staff. I'd tell you to get an order to go...but you can't order to go when it doesn't suit them.
