Family-owned Chattaway's retro decor is limited to kid-friendly tile-topped patio tables, umbrellas and tubs filled with flowers. Neighborhood families and hungry couples pack the place for the '50's-flavored burgers, thick, juicy and perfectly turned to your order. Never have iceberg lettuce, pickles and mayo tasted so good as on these. Try the Chattaburger with the works, add some crispy hand-cut fries or golden onion rings and sip on a thick shake to complete an old-fashioned soda fountain dream meal. Smaller burgers please small-fry appetites. If burgers aren't your thing, the grouper sandwich holds its own with fans, and black bean soup has a hint of a fiery kick.
