Hop up on one of the chrome-and-red vinyl stools surrounding the counter at Carl's Drive In -- there are no tables. The inside is almost as small as the parking lot, but you can watch the cooks prepare your meal right in front of you.
The fare at this authentic, '50s-era diner is mostly hamburgers, hot dogs and sandwiches, with all of your greasy favorites on the side: fries, cheese fries or onion rings. The delicious burgers have made the spot a local favorite. You can wash it all down with a shake, malt or fountain soda. Smokers take one side of the counter, while non-smokers get the other.
