Tony Lukes Beef & Beersimilar businesses >

There are offshoots of Tony Luke's original sandwich joint popping up all over the place -- even in Manhattan, but the most remarkable has to be the Beef and Beer Sports Bar, located directly across the street from the original Tony Luke's. It's an oddly cavernous space, with a second floor mezzanine that has a vague bridge theme to it, but decor is not really the point at Tony Luke's. It's all about the sports -- note the multiple flat screen TVs -- and the food (and, obviously, the beer).
Have the sandwich that made TL famous, the roast pork Italian style (with broccoli rabe and sharp provolone) on house-baked bread or go for a classic cheesesteak. Or, if you're a truly adventurous eater with an iron stomach and a cabinet full of antacids, attempt the ''Big Daddy Luke,'' a three pound behemoth of a burger. Eat it in under 45 minutes and you get a free t-shirt, your photo on the wall and an unbelievable tale to tell.
