Clearly a neighborhood saloon, Goldyburgers manages to attract burger aficionados from all points despite its rather tatty appearance. The place dates back to 1926, and by the end of a long night of food, drink and smoke, it looks it. Mention memorable burgers, however, and Goldyburgers is usually on a top 10 list of bests in the Chicago area. If appearances give you the willies, make your first foray to this Forest Park staple in the warmer months when you can dive into the two-fisted mass o' meat al fresco in the modest patio. The Goldyburger, a half-pound baby, features a nicely crisped exterior and a succulent interior with the usual lettuce, tomato, onion and pickle accompaniments as well as fries. You can snazz it up with bleu cheese and bacon for a more gourmet experience, but why mess with perfection? For the truly famished, the Big Daddy weighs in at three-quarters of a pound. Warm up with a bowl of homemade soup like thick potato or split pea. Other choices include fried shrimp, shrimp cocktail, chef salad, Polish, bratwurst, chicken breast sandwiches and a Friday night ocean perch fish fry.

Great Burgers
We venture to Goldies every few weeks for their Great gurgers and a few pints of Guinness.
Despite the "dingy" appearance, the folks are truly freindly and the owner will always stop by to say hello, if he's there.
Tasty, plentiful, and consistant.
Love those Goldie burgers!!Comments(0)|Add Commentcontinued....
Just forgot to mention, the place IS dingy. I like it tho, it's charming. And I'm NOT a picky eater. It's just that the burger doesn't have flavor or taste. It wouldn't make sense for me to visit again. Oh, and I ordered mushrooms, too. Yeah...they tasted like tofu
R U Kidding Me?
Just because a place is old and been around for a while does not make it GREAT. Like a bunch of Lemmings the locals flock here because its the ONLY burger in town, and the folks from these parts seldom venture past 1st Ave.
The BEST BURGER in the suburbs is 25 minutes west at STONEWOOD ALE HOUSE, just South of Woodfield Mall.
Not only are the BURGERS great there is more great food, but we're talking burgers here!
I Dare You To Find One Better!!!!!!
