Kooper's Tavern pays homage to the yellow Labrador retriever and is probably the only place in the city with a dog etched in stained glass. Dog photos and paw print logos complete the picture. Located on Thames Street, across from the Fells Point waterfront, pop in by foot or water taxi for a bite or a drink at the bar. A loud and lively crowd awaits your arrival. This is definitely the place to go for a party, and not to impress a date. The front of Kooper's is a festive wood bar with a couple TVs. Behind the bar, a casual dining area has about 10 tables; its eclectic decor includes a tugboat wall mural. The upstairs dining area is open on peak nights, and is also available for private functions.

The menu at Kooper's has a good selection of well prepared food at reasonable prices. The choices include appetizers, soups, salads, pizzas, burgers, sandwiches and a handful of entrees and desserts. The food is American, and includes some seafood options. A sandwich, burger or wrap is probably your best bet -- they are big, messy and cheap.
