Some of the city's tastiest hamburgers may be found in this little bar/diner combo, tucked away in the relative seclusion of the Stephen F. Austin Hotel parking garage like some wonderful fringe benefit for valets and bellboys. Mike's Pub is short on decor but long on grease: Aside from burgers, the menu lists such filling ballpark fare as hot dogs, chili dogs, Philly cheese steak sandwiches, Frito pies and french fries. Perhaps the lightest item available is the ham and cheese sandwich. Meanwhile, Mike's "pub" status is mostly based on the fact that so many pitchers of beer are served. -- Barrett Brown
