Dan's is a good ol' burger joint -- you know, order at the counter, burgers wrapped in thin paper, plastic trays, great malts. Don't expect anything fancy. But you can expect good burgers, fries, onion rings and malts. Fish and chicken sandwiches, chicken strips and chicken-fried steak round out the menu. Everything is fresh and made to order. For a big appetite, try the double meat, double cheese with bacon and jalapenos. You will know you're in Texas. For a stick-to-your-ribs breakfast, Dan's can't be beat. It serves eggs, sausage, bacon, ham and omelets with sides such as biscuits, grits, hash browns, sliced tomato and Texas toast. Do not miss the biscuits and gravy. Clearly, this isn't a restaurant for the 'light' eater. But it's great for everyone else. -- Lynett Oliver

Dan's, Si! Micky D's, no!
Robotmeister - 07/25/2008I frequent the Dan's on Manchaca ("Man-Chack" to the local Bubbas) and although their burger selections are really great, I often order a burger patty with my breakfast because (a) It's probably better for me, and (b) it's not on the menu, which makes me feel special... LOL! Note: please don't go to Dan's if you think McDonalds serves actual food. In fact, do us all a big favor, don't eat anywhere else if you like McDonalds.!

MAKEMP01 - 06/14/2008Even though I haven't had a Dan's Burger in several years, whenever anyone new to town ask where to get a good burger, I always reccommend Dan's. Their burgers are awesome with toasted buns and loaded with flavor. People don't talk while eating this burger.....you're enjoying the burger too much.
I'll have to make a trip across town soon to experience them again.
