Some people simply refuse to let go of the '50s; ranking among this proud demographic of Buddy Holly-worshipping retro-hipsters is the management at Casino El Camino, where a continuous barrage of like-minded regulars converge for fine eats and cheap drinks served up in an atmosphere untouched by the sad reality of a world without the Big Bopper. The munchables of choice here are the various styles of hamburgers, each of which features a patty bordering on the super-plump. The French fries are suitably greasy and rather inexpensive, but the real bargains here can be found among the daily happy hour drink specials, often the cheapest on Sixth Street. buckleychas - 02/10/2005We went to Casino El Camino for the first time about 2 weekends ago. Our friends dragged us down there. The burgers are the best we have had in many years! The atmosphere was a little dark and the employees looked a little scarry. However, the employees were very friendly and of course the food was excellant! The drinks were stout! We had a GREAT time! I suggest that you give it a try.
