The original Keys opened on Raymond Avenue in 1953. It's still there and the same family still runs it. Some of the old fixtures even remain in place, including the rotating stools at the lunch counter. For the health-conscious, the menu offers several low-calorie options such as salads and veggies. But the trademark here is high-cholesterol American diner food. Breakfast choices include eggs, bacon, sausages, hash (roast beef or Italian), omelets and blueberry pancakes the size of dinner plates. For lunch, traditional favorites such as liver and onions, the hot turkey sandwich with gravy, meat loaf and mashed potatoes, burgers and melts are available.
Keys is an honest-to-goodness old-fashioned diner without cutesy faux-retro gimmicks. It's like a setting from a Norman Rockwell painting. The ambience is warm and welcoming, and it's clear that the place is beloved by both the loyal patrons and the owners: The walls of the Raymond Street location are plastered with family photos and memorabilia. The other cafes in the chain are shorter on atmosphere, but they all serve up the same delicious stick-to-your-ribs food.

I tried Key's twice last year after they made the Best List. I will never go back! It was probably the worst breakfast I have ever had. Enough said!

This is your place to be if you want great food and real down home workers!!
Sleep 'til noon and skip breakfast here... !!!
AWFUL... !!! Bad Food... Poor Service... what else could possibly redeem it...???
Typical of those 'Good' Twin Citiy Restaurants where people confuse Quantity with Quality. So what if you get a Bushel of food for $5 ?? If it's Bad Food, who cares how cheap it is ...!!
The day these restaurants close, the Twin Cities Restaurant scene will move up a notch ... !!!
Go to the Egg and I, Hell's Kitchen or Chez Colette at the Sofitel if you want the best breakfasts in town ... !!
