Our Take

Traditional breakfasts from the griddle and skillet reign in countrified atmosphere. Pancakes chock full of blueberries, grits 'n' creamy gravy and fluffy biscuits with fruit preserves are fine ways to start your day. With rocking chairs on the porch, a country store stocked with Americana and rustic wood flooring throughout, you may find the place hard to leave.

Why does Cracker Barrell continue to survive? I just don't get it. Everything they serve is overpriced and greasy-really greasy. You get the extra bonus of waiting ten to fifteen minutes in the faux country store before you are seated (personally, I think you can probably find a seat right away, but they want you to buy their gear-so why not have you spend time in their shop?). Nothing like waiting to sit down in a country store designed to appeal to the young or senile, get seated, get a grease covered menu, order your food, wait another half hour-see your waiter or waitress maybe once after the food arrives (refills anyone?) and then paying 25% more than you should for an artery clogging meal. Way to go San Antonio. You've done it again. Cracker Barrell shouldn't even receive double digit percentages in this poll.
