Locals swear by the Morning Glory, particularly the breakfast, and early risers lucky enough to live nearby enjoy coming here on weekday mornings to get a good start to their day. Others may find themselves muscling each other in line for the weekend brunch. True, the prices are slightly higher than the normal diner, but you will be plenty filled up no matter what you order; this is no delicate breakfast cafe. Patrons include everyone from senior citizens to young couples just trying the living-together experiment. Pancake lovers will be overjoyed at the fluffy, made-from-scratch hotcakes with your choice of fresh fruit. A gigantic breakfast burrito stuffed with scrambled eggs, mozzarella, red and hot peppers, and spicy sausage (if you like) wrapped in a quickly toasted tortilla and topped with a red chili sauce lets you skip lunch. If you opt for lunch, though, Morning Glory won't disappoint either: Whether you're biting into a croque monsieur or the grilled ahi tuna BLT, your stomach will thank you.

Terrible Waiter
Unfortunately the waiters are a reflection of the restaurant and our waiter had terrible service. He did not check on us once. We had to ask someone else for drink refills, he was unpleasant and smug. The food was amazing and the locals we met while waiting were so nice. One of them recommended Fitzwater Cafe for better service. We'll go there next time.

My friend took me there on a sunday morning ( i was a bit hung over) about two years ago and we had to wait about 45 minutes to get in but WOW, was worth it! Now i try to get there during the week when i can just walk in and eat. The food is always great. The monkey french toast is sooooo good i try not order it ever time. The staff on the other hand could be a little more friendly.
Anything but GLORIOUS
I have been to the Morning Glory a few times and I have to say it is a bit overrated. I've been more than once simply because I was in the neighborhood, but frankly, the staff was miserable both times and they open at 8 which I think is a bit late. If by chance you are there 5 or 10 minutes before 8, freezing your you know whats off, they look out at you like you are not really there, not even letting you in out of the cold. The food is ok but I don't like the tin coffee cups...I won't hurry back..
Morning Glory Has No Competition
This is easily the best city breakfast. I grew up loving Melrose (at any time of day), but once I discovered Morning Glory, I never looked back. Once Melrose changed owners, the food became especially awful.
Everything at Morning Glory is fresh, and their pancakes are by far the best I've ever tasted; I don't order pancakes anyplace else. Their homemade banana bread is scrumptious. Really, there's nothing on the menu that I don't like. I know this rating is for breakfast, but I love Morning Glory's lunch menu equally. Also, we've never experienced rude service. For the person who shows up before the restaurant opens, well, that's his own fault. The hours are clearly posted.
