For those days when having pancakes for dinner sounds like a great idea, try the Ol' South Pancake House. Conveniently located at I-30 and University Drive in Fort Worth and open 24 hours, the menu at Ol' South boasts 39 pancake and waffle flavors, but they serve more than breakfast. If you're not in the mood for omelets, choose from a host of sandwiches and salads, as well as chicken fried steak with a home cooked flavor. Popular with both the college crowd and families, Ol' South also offers take out options and banquet rooms for special meetings or parties. Family-owned since 1962, Ol' South Pancake House is a great place to go when no one can agree on what to eat. -- Kimberly Williams

Ol South Must Never Rise Again
This place is still living on its reputation from 1959 and it smells like it. The interior is worn, out of date, and dirty. The food tastes like a bunch of second graders are in the kitchen learning to cook. The wait staff has no energy and seldom smiles. Do yourself a favor, instead of this breakfast hole...go to the Paris Cafe on Magnolia.

THE GERMAN PANCAKES ARE SO WONDERFUL, THAT THEY ARE SINFUL. I REALLY AVOID GOING BECAUSE I CAN'T RESIST. RARELY, I TAKE SOMEONE THERE AND WATCH THEIR FACE AS THEY SAY"TOO SWEET" BUT I LOVE IT. I BET THEY GO BACK, WITHOUT ME. A SPECIAL TREAT .
Are we all eating at the same place?
I've never had a meal that I've enjoyed at the Ol' South. For a while I kept going back because it's supposed to be a Fort Worth legend. Maybe once upon a time, but no longer. La Madeleine or Mimi's are much better choices.
WONDERFUL!
We have been going there for years. It is a 50 mile trip for us but we do try to go at least several times a year. I have never had German pancakes like these.
They used to have a restaurant in Dallas, but it closed many many years ago.
Wish they would put one back in the Dallas area.
Will keep on going. With family, Red Hat Society and just friends!
