Tucked away in the Westover neighborhood of Arlington is a small pizza restaurant, bar and deli with a big-time menu. The Lost Dog Cafe is infamous with locals for its 50-plus types of sandwiches, long list of signature gourmet pizzas and more than 200 beers from 20 different countries. Pizza favorites include the Sardegna, topped with marinated chicken breast chunks, garlic, olives, capers, onions, Parmesan, mozzarella and rosemary, and the Greek Pie, topped with tomato sauce, spinach, onions, tomatoes, black olives, feta, mozzarella and basil. If you're a white-pizza lover, you'll be crazy about the assortment of pies whose ingredients start with garlic butter, Parmesan, mozzarella and fontina. Lost Dog's huge selection of inexpensive eats also includes under-$5 appetizers such as onion rings and artichoke dip.
The location is small but cozy with an old-fashioned bar and wooden booths. If you're getting your food to-go from the bustling carryout side of the joint, grab some cold beer from one of the several fridges before your order gets rung up at the counter.
The restaurant gets its name from its owners' commitment to rescuing dogs. The Lost Dog Cafe also sells dog biscuits for you to bring home to your pooch. -- Robbin Zeff

POOR!!!!!!!
After raving about the pizza at the Lost Dog Cafe' and attempting to link up for quite some time with several friends, we finally had the opportunity to do so. This was my second visit to the "Lost Dog Cafe". The Food was less than what I remembered it to be, the service was substandard, and after we ran up a bill close to $80, we were not so kindly ask to leave because the line was getting longer by the minute. Granted, it was a Saturday evening but we were there less that an hour. I was quite appalled. I won't begin to speculate what the reasoning behind this, but, they will not get my business or any of my friends. Thanks for making a lasting impression!

I payed 6$ for a BLT that came with diced tomatoes(pizza topping) and a very small amount at that. Granted the pies are good , unless they changed... it aint all that, dont be fooled. in my opinion if a "gourmet sandwich "joint cant do a good BLT that is problem. That was my last sandwich there.
Completely overrated
The beer selection is great, but that's about it. The food is nothing special - cheap sandwiches and overpriced pizza. The place is dirty, loud and people sit on the top of each other. But what killed the experience completely, was the worst service. The wait stuff is very odd and "slow". After they messed up our order, the waiter argued for a while that that's what we ordered. Then he tried to charge us 50% for the wrong order. The manager was not helpful at all, and looked drunk. They eventually brought us the right meal, but never apologized. We tried carry out the next time and the pizza got soggy and runny. There are a ton of great restaurants in the area and this is not one of them.
