Grumblers complain that it feels like a chain, but they still stop in for the beer. Folks can now enjoy the craft-brewed Dogfish Head ales that have been popular for more than 10 years at the original brew pub in Rehoboth. While the Gaithersburg site leaves the brewing to Delaware, DC devotees can now find all the Dogfish Head products under one roof. The two-story interior has a decent sized bar, plenty of dining space and a cozy private room upstairs.

Inductees to the unconventional world of Dogfish Head beer can start sipping with a Shelter Pale Ale, the company's original brew with a satisfying malt backbone and a slight nutty flavor. Lawnmower Light is a starter beer too, a high-quality draft that isn't dumbed down. If you pass on these lites, sit back, settle in an roll up your sleeves for some high-octane concoctions. 120 Minute IPA, considered the Holy Grail for hopheads, is one of several limited edition releases -- offered once or in some cases just a few times per year. Watch for seasonal ales like Punkin' and Snowblower and order some bites on the side. From pizzas and burgers to salmon and salads, the Alehouse provides plenty of options to help soak up the suds.

just make sure u bring a lot of money. Guy at door recommended Midas brew. great taste. comes in a little glass. when got bill, was like $9.00 each. what a shocker. No wonder he was pushing it. I'll never go back. Waitress was a turnoff. She was pushy with the recommendations. Come on caphilldel - the food basically sucks. where have u been eating? or do you have a business interest for dogfish

We'd hoped to find a place we'd love to come back to, instead we found a poor clone of what was chic years ago. Except for the beer Houston's makes this look like a wanna be.

If you havent tried dogfish beer yet and you are a beer lover, you are really missing out. Go for the beer and be pleasantly surprised by the food. Best fries around, good pizza, in a relaxed setting. Only complaint is that because of Montgomery County law there is no beer to go. Do yourself a favor and stop by. Try one of the high octane brews like a 90 minute Pale Ale, or if you are really a hop-head go for the 120 minute pale ale, there is nothing better!
