Best Beer in O.C.
If you are a craft beer lover, this place is for you... The selection changes with the seasons so you can always expect something new on each visit. When I go, I always pony up to the bar with my wife and have dinner and drinks. The bartenders there are awesome and very attentive. It's also a great place to hang out with friends and watch sports on their HUGE big-screen and other TV's in the bar area. But don't let my comments fool you. If you are looking for a nice, romantic dinner, this is also the place to go!
My only criticism would be that I wished they had a few more "mainstream" dinner choices when it came to the chicken and beef.
Other than that, get your butt over there and give them a try. They're about a mile west of the 57 on Imperial; corner of Imperial and Brea Blvd.Comments(0)|Add CommentAwesome Beer! Awesome Sunday Brunch!
If you want to taste really fresh, great tasting beer in Brea, go no further than Taps Fish House. Yard house (down Brea Blvd) may boast of many tap handles, but some of the slow selling beer sits in those kegs for quite a while & may not be the best product. However, at Taps there is always fresh beer, made right there on the premises by the excellent brew team under the guidance of brewmaster extraordinaire, Victor Novak.( His Thomas Jefferson ale is one of my favorites.) The menu will change seasonally, look for a pumpkin ale in the late fall. If you are 'afraid' of ales, just try the cream ale. You won't be sorry. All the beers are full of flavor, no need to chug. Growlers are available for purchase, see the bartenders for details. Many of the beers have won awards at craft brew competitions and state fairs. You can order samplers before you get a full pint. Mmmm, I'm getting thirsty just thinking about it.
I also highly recommend the Sunday brunch. There is a wonderful Dixieland quintet that play, food stations galore, even a kiddie section. I have never been disappointed in their shellfish, and the chefs really make everything look and taste great. Well worth a Sunday morning reservation.
It's almost happy hour now! Think I'll head on down to Taps and have a pint or two & some of their Happy Hour fare! See you there!Poor Service - Big Prices
The service is only fair to poor. They rush you, substitute food that you may not want (but the menu says they can substitute one food for another). The prices do not justify the quality of food and poor service. They say the cook comes from Scott's Seafood across the street from the Southcoast Plaza - save your money and just go to Scott's Seafood and you will be so much happier there.
Watch out for the valet parking, my friend got a dent on his door from another door being opened by the valet!Grumpy
