How many times has it happened? You've got a big wager riding on the Manchester United game, but those ridiculous casino sports bars insist on showing the Green Bay Packers game instead. Never fear, for just a few minutes east of the Strip there's a British pub where the only football discussed is the one played by guys in shorts. The Crown & Anchor has been called a college bar, an after-work bar, even a sports bar, but it's a pub first and foremost, and anyone who's been to England knows that an authentic pub can be all of these things and more. It's a place to eat, down a few libations, and meet up with friends for a game of darts or a lively conversation. The pub grub might not be as farm fresh as they've got in the Cotswolds, but the sandwiches go down smoothly, especially when accompanied by a pint of Guinness, Newcastle Brown or Blackthorn cider. The jaunty nautical theme adds to the ambience.

The service from the bartenders was horrible, the place was dead and two bartenders were working and we didn't get served for 15 minutes then when we finished our drinks we waited for another 15 til we decided to leave. Beer was warm and they have a weird permit that make you order food if you want to order liquor.

  • Bligh me, mate.

Do you like stuffed shirts, skunky beer, and ugly women?....well
then, you'd be VERY disappointed in the Crown & Anchor! In the historically correct Las Vegas Pub lineage (Bulldogs, Mad Dogs & Englishmen), it's a really cool place.
Love it (try the fish & chips)

Crown and Anchor is a welcome relief for me, I rememember Mad Dogs and Englishmen, on the strip. I really miss Fremont Reggae, if anyone cares.
