There were three things that the owners of Flying Saucer wanted patrons to consider when they walked through their doors. They were, in no particular order: beer, beer and more beer. The selection of barley and hops at this Ft. Worth institution is nothing short of decadent. Let's run down just a few of the more popular options since we don't have the time or space to cover all 77 beers on tap. There's the Subliminator Dopplebock, St. Arnold's Alien, Rogue Mogul Ale, Maredsous 8, Hippie Hollow and Stone Brewing's Arrogant Bastard. If you haven't heard of any of these labels, fret not. The Flying Saucer is a learning experience for most and a good place to sample different types of microbrews. Creamy beer cheese soup, spicy sausage quesadillas, bratwurst and German potato salad are available to soak up the alcohol.

Great atmosphere
Good place for a quality beer, pretty much any beer you want.

Should be called the Saucer Store as there are plates EVERYWHERE! Look up next time you are in there! Apparently, if you can drink a certain amount, they'll make you your very own plate and stick it over the bar.
The Flying Saucer does NOT serve mixed drinks--strictly beer and wine, and while it claims to have an impressive selection of beers, it doesn't have a lot of common European beers and ales.
Lunches are better than the evening bar food. Try the tacos, which are really pizza's with chicken on them. Lots of cheese to soak up the alcohol!
Everyone HAS to try the pickled popcorn here. Now it's not LITERALLY popcorn that they 'pickle', it's just coated in this pickle flavor. I don't know if it's the drink, or what, but we go through buckets of the stuff! They bring out large trays for us and we have even eaten them out of it on one occasion:)
There is samll room upstairs with a pool table, couches, and a seperate bar, which is available for private parties. We like that room. They will even cater your event for a very reasonable price. Chicken wings, sandwhices, veggie tray. It may not be the best food, but it's above average.
When not reserved, the room is open to all. It's a little quieter in there than in the downstairs bar and the outside picnic bench area.
This is a fun place to go. Not one I visit often, as I prefer it's sister company 8.0's bar down the street. But the flying Saucer is a more laid back and not as wild. Definately worth a look.
