The Wharf Rat at Camden Yards occupies a prime piece of real estate, and when baseball season is in full swing, this is one busy bar. The Rat is an English-style pub and calls itself an "exhibition brewery." That means it's a microbrew geek's port of call and it draws a lot of folks who are fussy about beer, or in this case, ale. The house brand is Oliver ales, of which there are 12 varieties; but the Rat, which has a sister bar in Fells Point, serves "guest draughts" as well. They offer special tastings, samplers of three 10-ounce ales and hold brewery tours daily until 7PM. Though many describe the food as fair, their crab cakes were a "Best of Pubs" selection on a Food Network episode. It's a cozy -- if touristy -- place that does its best to look like a neighborhood public house in merry Old England.

This is one of my favorite spots in Baltimore. I in town frequently on business and make it a point to go at least once each time. Everything from meat loaf to crab cakes excellent and enjoyable. Located right across from Convention Center -- sitting outside (when possible) it's also a great place to people watch.

My post's keep getting deleted for some reason. I have had two horrible experiences here. This place stinks from the food to the service.
