The hardy founders of the logging town that became a local shopping and dining destination would be delighted (though they wouldn't use that word) to eat here. Entering the door of this Stillwater eatery, modern day visitors will pick up on the traditional American steakhouse atmosphere that replaces the Tex-Mex flair of the previous tenant, Pepito's. Since selling their Tonka Grill and BBQ and taking some time off, owners Barbara and Tim Doyle have returned with another very meat eater-friendly lineup of grilled favorites. Spicy beef ribs and baby back pork ribs are moist and tender, and you can slather on the Doyles' own barbecue sauce to suit your taste. Steaks and burgers are thick enough for lumberjack (and lumberjill) appetites, but fans of seafood and chicken will find also find dishes that satisfy. Typical rib joint sides like fries, slaw and cornbread are tasty and fresh. Prices stay in the medium range, with a max of $23 for the big meat sampler platter. Finally, it wouldn't be a ''joint'' without one, so expect a full service bar with a good selection of preferred libations. -- John Sharpe
