This is the real down-home deal -- a converted old house, barbecue smoke pouring out of the backyard, servers who call you "hon'" and "darlin'" (and mean it) and classic picnic tables. Dine on succulent ribs, beef, pork, chicken or sausage. Hollywood couldn't have created this kind of visual authenticity and few places could replicate the tastiness factor.

Order up the meat of choice (try the pulled pork) with some homemade slaw or potato salad, and wash it down with a big glass of tea. Then spend an hour or two shooting the breeze. Try the combo platter (your choice of three meats and several sides): enough Southern barbecue to satisfy the biggest bubba. Save room for dessert.
