Understand that you'll never, ever be able to sneak into this eatery for a clandestine bite without being found out: The irresistible aroma clings like a sock fresh out of the dryer. It's like lipstick on your collar. Just admit you're going, save some embarrassment.

Inside the narrow, two-story space a western motif is present but not pervasive, and guests receive a big, southern-style welcome. Portions, too, are Texas-sized, and prices downright modest. Full meals come with cornbread, a side (beans, slaw, potato, macaroni, or green salad) and meat (pork ribs, chicken, sausage, beef, pulled pork, turkey, ham.) The "Outlaw" gets one choice, the "Maverick" two, and purloining cattle must whet the appetite, because the "Rustler" comes with three meats. Sandwiches and chili round out the grown-up grub, and "li'l pardnurs" get their own menu. Tea comes sweet or not, but if you're hankerin' for a potent potable, go for the big can of Foster's lager. Apparently, sports and BBQ are a winning combo -- business tends to be hopping on game days at Qwest or Safeco Field. Check the website for info on Longhorn's catering services and other locations.

  • It's Longhorn or Nuthin'!!

Longhorn BBQ is the only bbq that I'll eat. The sauce is the best and I buy it by the gallon for at home. The portions are generous with many choices and the staff is down-home Texas friendly. I have no idea where they find such personable fun people but every employee has a smile and is genuinely happy to see you. It's LONGHORN OR NUTHIN'! I wouldn't go anywhere else.

  • Good for some - not all

They have some good stuff, But, they say "beef", real BBQ "beef" is
"BRISKET" not "Eye of round". Your beef Bad! Brisket beef Good!
You would be kicked out of Texas for that sorry substitution and forever bared form using the sacred Longhorn name!
