Renowned for a 50-year-old family barbecue recipe, this award-winning Tennessee-style barbecue restaurant offers great food at an unbeatable price. Don't come for the ambiance; booths and tables are simple and functional, but the regulars who come in droves on weekends and holidays don't seem to mind. Constituting a non-traditional fast food, their homemade sandwiches come in either small or large sizes with chicken, beef, pork or links. Dinners include chicken, ribs or a combo of both with a choice of two sides ranging from cole slaw and potato salad to homemade cowbrow beans and corn on the cob. Meat is additionally available by the pound for larger appetites and family meals. Don't leave without trying the sweet potato pie or peach cobbler, which are also available whole and by the slice. A great place for takeout or dinner with the family, but grab lots of napkins -- this is serious barbecue. -- Jill McCabe

1 word "fake"
At this BBQ joint it is all reheated and has no flavor. The food was mediocre at best. Just needs to try harder or actually try to "BBQ" its a terrible waste of meat and should try and do thing the right way instead of faking it! Service was moderate and had to wait for cold food and just ok food. Try harder and not have the smoke in a bottle added to microwaved meat!!!
RESTRAUNT IS OLD AND DINGY
THE FOOD IS OK AS FAR AS THE PORK SANDWHICH GOES. THE RC DRINKS SUCK AS THEYM ARE USUALLY FLAT. THE INTERIOR NEEDS REDONE. THE STAFF LEANS ON THE COUNTER AND ACTS AS IF YOU ARE BOTHERING THEM. THE VAN BUREN LOCATION YOU FEEL AS IF YOU NEED A GUN TO WALK FROM CAR AND BACK AND PARKING IS POOR.
MY 2 CENTS ON WHY JOES REAL BBQ SHOULD WIN
