Although it should be noted that Lucille's only displays authentic southern American folk art in its restaurants, it suffers from that faux-bayou atmosphere that the House of Blues employs. Still, this small chain more than makes up for its artificial ambiance with its magnificent barbeque selection. There's constant activity in the kitchen as cuts like ribs, roasts, tri-tip, chops and turkey are smoked round the clock in hickory-fueled ovens anywhere from three to twelve hours at a time (which accounts for the meat's trademark pink color). Weekday dining ensures you a table within minutes of entering the door, but weekend dining is a little more difficult, as Lucille's doesn't take reservations -- an hour-long wait for a table isn't unusual. But while you're waiting for your seat, take solace in the fact that the restaurant has amazing nightlife including live blues music and a top-shelf bar. The wait is sure to work up your appetite for the house specialty: the baby back ribs slathered in the kitchen's top secret hickory sauce.

I've never had better BBQ Tri-tip
The place is clean, open and a family style eatery. The Menu is definately slanted toward southern style food and it is wholesome. The service is first class, friendly and the prices aren't bad. I enjoy the various selections of BBQ sauce available at each table, for sampling and using on the their meat offerings. The wife and I have been there on many occasions and have never been disappointed with anything we have selected from the menu. The Bar area is pretty loud and full of young people, so if you are thinking of a quiet sit down dinner, head to the quiet dinning area. Food service is avaliable in the bar area, if that's your bag.

Can't touch their "rib tips," mashed sweet potatoes, peanut slaw, or collard greens. Take a backyard "Family Feast" to the party! You'll make plenty of friends.
