You know you're in for a good, messy meal when the waitress ties a bib around your neck. There's a reason Sam Taylor's B-B-Q consistently ranks as one of Denver's best barbecue joints for many years running: tasty, comfort food for hungry eaters on a budget. Located in once-hip Glendale, Sam's is an unpretentious spot with a bright and spacious dining room abuzz with a friendly staff willing to provide whatever it takes to get you comfy -- from a stack of napkins to protective wear. Serving up no-nonsense lunches and dinners heavy on pork, beef brisket, chicken platters and fresh-from-the-fryer fish sandwiches, the place swims in the sweet aroma of hickory smoke. Of all meals, barbecue is the great equalizer and Sam's proves it true, attracting a diverse mix of patrons, from casual business lunchers to families and friends fresh from the ball fields. -- Drew Myron

My friend and I went to Sam Taylors on a mission to seek great BBQ in Denver. Well we found it at Sam Taylors. But our experience there was horrible to say the least. It was a Saturday evening, around 7pm. From the moment we walked in, it was relatively calm, and it took us 5 min for someone to acknowledge that we were standing there to be seated. After being seated and given menu's, another 15 minutes went by without any orders being taken. We couldnÂt even get a glass of water. My friend walked up to the bar, which was unoccupied, and due to the fact that we were very thirsty, considered, jumping behind the bar himself to get us water. Sam Taylor walked by to say hi and asked how we were doing, and we told him that we had been sitting there for a while without being serviced. He then flagged a waitress to our table, brought us glasses of water, and a basket of potato chips. Even though he flagged the waitress to come to our table, she completely disregarded his requests, and ignored us for another 15 minutes. Sam walked by again, and we explained to him, that no one has taken our order, he flagged the waitress, she finally dragged herself over to our table, took our order, and we didnÂt see her again or our food for another hour. In fact do to our fualt, we didnÂt ask about our food, until we noticed, the waitresses putting the chairs on the table. ThatÂs right ladies and gentlemen, they were closing. When we asked our waitress where our food was, she sucked her teeth, sighed, and went to get it, needless to say, it came to us cold. But I will say, although cold, the ribs were very smokey and favorable. We left, after placing our food in boxes to finish at home, and left no tip.
TIP for the potential visitor: Order Takeout!!!!Nothing Compares
I have searched this state for the past12 years for good barbeque. I was looking for a place that had tender and tasty Ribs, comperable to what Washington D.C. has.I stumbled across Sam Taylors and I was amazed. The food is fantastic and the service was amazing. If you love Barbeque then GO TO SAM TAYLORS!!!!
America's Best Ribs
My husband and I drive more than an hour to get to Sam Taylor's. The ribs are the best we've had and no bbq sauce compares. We don't even bother with side dishes (though I've heard they're great,) we order one slab and have at it. I highly recommend Sam Taylor's to anyone who likes barbeque.
