Slap on a bib and pile up the wet naps -- this Mt. Healthy joint serves up juicy, hickory-smoked selections that please even the finickiest barbecue connoisseurs. The brightly colored house that sits along Compton Road has been serving up barbecued choices since 2000, and has developed raving fans nationwide. Inside, the place is decorated in Southwestern-pig-whimsy style, adorned with twinkling lights, festive pig portraits and cowboy paraphernalia throughout. The "nothin' fancy" attitude keeps it simple and focuses on the main event: the barbecue. First, pick your centerpiece: beef brisket, pulled pork, baby back ribs, pulled chicken or salmon, any of which is slow-cooked over genuine Texas hickory chips. Then, add a couple of down-home side dishes, like creamy mac and cheese, cinnamon apples, collard greens, deviled eggs or homemade cornbread. Top it off with a piece of homemade apple pie, peach cobbler or creamy bread pudding. Barbecue fanatics pick the place time and time again as one of the city's best.

If you are looking for the best ribs ever, look no more!!! My family and I have been on a quest to find the best rib and we found them at Pit to Plate in Mt. Healthy. We have eaten bbq ribs from Dayton Ohio to Savanah Georgia but have found none better than Pit to Plate. Good smokey and dry rub flavors are a perfect combination for these award winning ribs. The most tender fall off the bone ribs you have ever had. The service is great and frindly, and the live bands are great. For sure a 5 star above all others. This place is well worth the trip. I highly recomend it.

i have been to P2P many times, and each time is as good or better than the previous... as for "very disappointed," i find it odd that if i have been 20 times and have had friendly smiling service, and he has been once and had "rude" service, that maybe it was he who brought the vibe... it is unparalleled for BBQ in cincinnati, and ranks right there with some of Texas' best!
Just go and try it
We as a family have frequented this place many many times over the years. As it may not be a 5 star resteraunt it is VERY family friendly. The owner, Diane is hands down a great women, as is her cute daughter. I have had almost everything on the menu at one time or another and my favorite is the texas chili mac with the smoked cheddar on top. Also, the pork chops are magnificient. I am not a big fan of pulled pork myself but the brisket is also very good. Whatever you have try a dab of the Carolina sauce on it, you'll be glad you did. So, just go try it and when you do ask for Diane, she will come out sit at your table and chat with you as she does with most customers. What other place will that happen in?
very disapointed
A good friend told me this was the place to go however I found it to be dirty, tons of fat in the meat, cold potatoes & rude service people-- It will be a cold day for me to try this nasty place again.
