Country barbecue smoked up just right in Marietta.
Danny and Larry grew up helping their father, Jack cook real southern style barbecue. 1989 they brought their authentic southern style barbecue to Marietta and the rest is a well known success story. They have catered many events in Atlanta for small and large functions. They have mouth watering favorites such as ribs, pork, beef, whole hog, chicken, hot dogs and hamburgers.Visit Citysearch.com

Suburban barbecue comes with expected side of country charm.

The Scene
Faux-rustic decor and a Marietta strip-mall location uphold Williamson Brothers' family-friendly chain restaurant appeal. Diners congregate in the spacious main room or in cushioned wooden booths decorated with ranch-life memorabilia. A vintage Coke machine and soft country music complement the old-fashioned approach. The wait staff is both friendly and efficient.

The Food
Laminated menus feature such standard fare as burgers and chicken tenders, but it's the Alabama-style barbecue that pays the bills. Pork ribs, a bit more fatty than the norm, are the main attraction, slathered in the restaurant's signature sweet, smoky barbecue sauce. Barbecued chicken relies heavily on the sauce for flavor. A diverse combo platter, which lets you sample ribs and chicken, girded by tasty pulled pork and beef, is the best bet. Sides don't stack up to the entrees: crinkly fries and onion rings are bland and the Brunswick stew is too sweet.

  • Such a disappointment

My husband had the pork plate and I had the baby back ribs. Horrible! And the attitude of the take-out cashier was pitiful. We won't be back.

  • Not Bad, but Not Great Either

My wife, brother-in-law and my best friend decided to try Williamson Bros right before Thanksgiving after I had heard how great this place was. Walking through the front door, the smell that greeted us told me that this place was a legit BBQ joint. Unfortunately, the food that followed didn't live up to the smell. The appetizers were greasy and undercooked and the 'Q was decent at best. Each of us ordered something different, but we all had the same reaction; "eh." There was too much sauce on everything and it really overpowered the meat.
In summary, I wouldn't go out of my way to get to this place, but if I were going there with a group of people, I think I could find something on the menu to eat.
