I don't get it????
When I moved to Phoenix I was told what a great place this was. I have been there several times but never really had a "great steak." It's ok at best. I think their reputation has outstripped reality. Sorry...
Add CommentThe only restaurant I can really brag about!

High class is their method, yet they aren't snobby. They have it right, and of course the food is always impressive and delicious. Have yet to encounter bad service after 12 years as my favorite place to eat. Whether you're in shorts after a baseball game for lunch or wearing a tux at dinner, they treat you like gold. Pricing may seem steep to some, but for what you get it's a relative bargain. For perspective, I have never liked liver of any kind, except for their grilled Chicken Liver, it's amazing. If you're thinking about eating there, DO IT, I'll guarantee you'll have a favorite new place, and at the very least a place you can recommend without hesitation. Only the most impossible customer would find it anything other than fantastic, and those people just don't deserve Durant's.

I wrote 1 review and all I can say is everything about the restaurant was terrible. From the decor , to the management, to the wait staff, and especially the food. Reading the other reviews, I must have been in a different place. The need to stop living on their laurels.
Old School Style & Great Food!

We went to Durant's Feb 2008 and enjoyed the Filet and Ribeye. If you have never been there, it is just cool, the wait staff is in tuxedos, there are always fresh flower arrangements (huge) throughout the restaurant, and old school red-flocked wallpaper. You don't have to dress up to go there as Phoenix residents and visitors stop in before ball games as well as the theater. The steaks here are always superb. Get the shrimp cocktail as an appetizer but watch the cocktail sauce, it has a wonderful, spicy horseradish. Sit in Chris "CT's" section, we were in his section Saturday night, he took my personsal tastes into consideration when he suggested a wonderful Spanish wine and when I mentioned I love "sweets" he picked the perfect b-day dessert as a surprise for me, Bailey's Cheesecake with an Oreo crust. This is a new dessert for Durants as we have been going there for 7 years and I have never seen it so it was a complete surprise when he brought it out and it is a perfect match for my taste buds, I can't wait to have it again!
Not only best in Phx but West
Awesome best steak house in the West. I entertain on many business occaisions Durants never fails to complete a great evening. I rate this very high on the list of all Steak Houses I have visited across the country.
Nothing but the Best!
From the immaculate tuxedoed service to the red-flocked fleur-de-leis, what's not to love? Add the top steaks, always cooked to ordered perfection, and a lovely wine list, it makes all other steak joints look like chain restaurants! Oh, wait, they are! Consistent in great food, service and entertainment over our past 10 years of enjoyment. They truly are the best in town!
