Some days cry out for comfort food, and Mimi's is the answer; apparently, these crises of comfort are plentiful because there's almost always a wait for a table. Popular with the senior set, lunches and early dinners are especially crowded. At least there's plenty to distract you while you wait -- the decor, an American version of country French, is peppered with wrought iron accents, tiny Provencal prints, an eclectic mix of furniture styles and more roosters than you'd find in a barnyard (Mimi's has a tradition that roosters are good luck). It is possible to eat here without blowing your diet, but save the carrot sticks for another meal and plan to splurge. Generous portions of French onion soup, warm rolls with creamy butter and hearty beef stews are just the beginning. Finishing off with chocolate bourbon pecan pie or apple cinnamon cobbler always seems like the right thing to do. The casual dining atmosphere makes this an ideal place to bring children, who are welcomed with their own menu and plenty of crayons. -- Sheila Roe

    I loved the food the first time I went it but in the last few years every location I've been to has had mediocre food and HORRIBLE service. Oh well, I gave up on them. I don't have money to waste waiting for them to get better.

    I don't consider a restaurant real, unless it serves shredded hash browns for breakfast, Mimi's don't .Other than that, Mimi's is a good place to eat.

    Wonderful atmosphere.Great menu selections at affordable prices.Tasty lunches will make you want to come back.Generally good service.Decidedly above average.

    TODAY APRIL 26-05 I HAD LUNCH AT MIMI"S HERE IN MESA AZ. THE FOOD WAS EXCELENT, IT REMINDED ME OF TIMES I SPENT AS A YOUTH. PLAYING HOOKEY AND TRADING OUR CATCH FOR LUNCH. WE WOULD GOT A BOWL OF CHOWDER AND WHATER MY FRIENDS MOM HAD LEFTOVER IN THE KITCHEN AT THE FISHING STATION AND BAR.
    THE LADIES WHO WAITED ON ME KNEW JUST HOW TO KEEP THE FOOD COMMING.
    THEY WATCHED ME AND SAW WHEN I WAS CLOSE TO FINISHING ONE COURSE AND THEN THEY WOULD BE THERE WITH THE NEXT COURSE OR KEEPING MY GLASS FULL.
    I JUST CANT SAY ENOUGH ABOUT THE WAIT STAFF, WAY TO GO PEOPLE!
