Can't decide what to have for dinner? Not sure if you're in the mood for Chinese, American, Japanese or French? Head to Chen's Bistro where you can have all of the above. The focus at Chen's is on the buffet tables, laden with specialties from around the globe. Look for a prime rib station, ice cream machine, sushi and oyster bars, a salad bar and a hibachi station. Piled onto the steam tables are Chinese food standards -- beef with broccoli, sweet and sour pork, General Tso's chicken, dumplings, noodles, etc. There's lots to look at in the restaurant, from the waterfall at the front door to the tropical greenery. Prices are good for all-you- can-eat deals -- about $15 at dinner, $7 at lunch.

Very bad place to eat!
Man what a disgrace for asian food, Im asian and it's just plain bad. I don't even know how it even got 3rd place on this list, as far as I'm concern it should be at the bottom. The prices just keep going up while the quality of food just keeps sinking. They're just in it to make a quick buck without concern for the customer. I recently just ate there and it made me feel sick the next day for the whole day. And what is this talk of french food in the summary? I don't see any at all. I would never recommend this place, there are many other places in Charlotte that serves better asian food then this. Its a total joke and I feel bad for the employees. Avoid at all cost!!!!

My wife and I dine at Chen;s Bistro often; our experiences have been wonderful. A very attententive staff, great food and comfortable atmoshpere. A great place to dine for locals and visiting guest. Highly recomended!
Are you joking???
My family just dined there after seeing them @ Taste of Charlotte & it was horrible!!! Unfortunately, the cold food wasn't the worst part! My husband & I witnessed an employee stick her hands in the buffet, grab a piece of food, & put it in her mouth! Disgusting! When we tried to talk to the manager he said it "never happened" & that he was also the owner! He went on to let the employee scream at my husband, my son, & myself! We paid the bill so we couldn't get in trouble and then left to call the health department! Yes, we did file a claim!
Unhappy Customer
Don't go weeknights if you like fresh food.
As a long time customer of a pretty good restaurant for chinese and sushi I have had bad experiences twice on weeknights. They close at 10pm but if you go in after 7 the selection of food is suffering. The sushi is stale IF THERE IS ANY LEFT. On slow nights they stop making sushi early. I went in at 7:45pm and there were just a few old rolls left and they refused to make anymore until I had to make a scene. The few snowcrabs they make you have to wait 15 minutes for as they are never ready and are soggy and small if you can beat the rest of the people to get any at all. Otherwise the food is ok on weeknights. The servers are wonderful but what is good service if they don't have the food you go there to eat. The problem is the management is poor and doesn't know how to treat customers. After complaining how unhappy I was they did not do a thing till I finally had to make a stink and the manager then agreed to make me a few pieces of sushi. DO NOT GO ON WEEKNIGHTS PAST 6PM. Friday and Saturday though more expensive are the only good nights to eat there.
